Shares of power conversion and control solutions provider Vicor Corporation (NASDAQ:VICR)
fell 23.6% in the afternoon session after the company reported underwhelming first-quarter 2025 results: its revenue and EPS fell short of Wall Street's estimates. Revenue grew 12% from a year ago but declined 2% from the prior quarter, pointing to slowing momentum in core product lines. Overall, this quarter could have been better.
Shares of electronics manufacturing services provider Benchmark (NYSE:BHE) fell 14.7% in the morning session after the company reported weak first quarter 2025 results: its revenue missed and its revenue and EPS guidance for the next quarter fell slightly short of Wall Street's estimates. Sales declined 6% year over year, driven by broad-based weakness across key sectors like Medical, Industrial, and Advanced Computing, with only the Aerospace and Semiconductor units posting growth.
On the other hand, Benchmark beat analysts' EPS expectations this quarter. Still, this was a weaker quarter.
Shares of semi trailers and liquid transportation container manufacturer Wabash (NYSE:WNC)
fell 30.5% in the afternoon session after the company reported underwhelming first quarter 2025 results: Revenue and EPS in the quarter missed. Its full-year revenue guidance missed significantly and its full-year EPS guidance fell short of Wall Street's estimates. A key concern was the steep 26% decline in Transportation Solutions revenue. Overall, this was a weaker quarter.
Shares of fast-food chain Wingstop (NASDAQ:WING)
jumped 11.2% in the afternoon session after the company reported impressive first-quarter 2025 results, which blew past analysts' revenue, EPS, and EBITDA expectations. Revenue rose 17.4% year over year, fueled by a 15.7% jump in system-wide sales and the addition of new stores, although domestic same-store sales barely budged with just a 0.5% increase. Zooming out, we think this was a good quarter with some key areas of upside.
Seaport Research analyst Jay Goldberg argued that Nvidia is one of the leading beneficiaries of the current AI spending boom, but its prospects are "well understood and largely priced into the stock."
