US markets closed slightly lower on Tuesday as investors waited for the Fed’s rate decision. Strong retail sales weren’t enough to lift the market, while several standout stock moves, from Steel Dynamics’ profit surprise to a sharp FDA blow for Hims & Hers, dominated the headlines.
Shares of arcade company Dave & Buster’s (NASDAQ:PLAY) fell 17.1% in the morning session after the company reported weaker-than-expected second-quarter financial results.
UBS said that while Dave & Buster’s was still in the early stages of a turnaround, with macro pressure remaining elevated and visibility limited, an eventual return to consistently positive same-store sales represents potential upside for shares.
Arcade company Dave & Buster’s (NASDAQ:PLAY) fell short of the market’s revenue expectations in Q2 CY2025, with sales flat year on year at $557.4 million. Its non-GAAP profit of $0.40 per share was 56.6% below analysts’ consensus estimates.
